from THE DAYLIGHT SECTIONS (66)

the dark bird runs alongside
these pale wheels and winter
coasts or holds still
for the camera to become the rose

injury retreats to forecast
peace that passes longing
and decrepitude relaxes
toward a crime scene

limited to a labeled audience
that crafts a world
to mirror the mistakes
in case permission lapses

and the grand chance
to be wrong appears
unclothed thus sacrificing
error to be framed and shown
