Well sex and love are often represented by disease in literature, etc. I think there's a lot of truth in that. The fear of chicken flu is the illness, not the chicken flu.

....and immune deficiency diseases, cancer, allergies, etc. and the artificial environments that we live in.... An allergy is a reaction where one is not required! A physical reaction to nothing!
there's a relationship between hyper reality and the kind of illnesses we get. Also lonliness and the "extended family/dysfunctional family" and stress related illness and mental health.
Essentially a loss of touch with the body and reality. And, an inability to give/receive love, affection, etc.
but of course, illnesses follow lifestyles....
But I'm sure a pill will cure the recession ;-)
Either that or a diet!!
Loss of soul. Loss of connection to nature and the daimons. The shamans are in hiding. I think the 'recession'is the cure.(In Australia we are in denial and are not having one - howzat!!)
