Merda and ShitMerda was Manzoni's perfect raw heroine. Her body work was perfect.Her body work as labour.She was dried commodity. A product ad infinitum. She never used preservatives when with Shit. Shit was reprocessing, Shit was packaging artistpersona, Shit made violent shit, a commodity. He called himself names: Shit shit or shiT..He was the Artist's artist , the Artist's shit as expulsion.They lived in a dried cycle of violent consumption and they were really happy.We were jealous.(Manzoni, Fragments from a Review on Artistic Added Shit, p.45)
How awfull that art has come to this!This isn't a really a comment on consumption, as Manzoni believes - the truth he has made shit art. He has helped to make art nothing....
Art should stimulate, engage an audience, not push them away and disgust them! Hopefully, this reveals the beginning of the end of Modernist echoes (Postmodernism) and points towards a new art, more democratic and inclusive, less elitist.Here art is escaping into self-obsession, its own critique - this cannot address issues in our societies, nor can it engage anyone (except dealers!).Yuk! I hate the idea.

Unattractiveness often turns into its own (perhaps quite unwelcome) entity. All kinds of issues hover around the made thing.Thank goodness there is freedom to look away. And if more is "being done," so be it. That said, my interests lie (or they tell the truth) elsewhere.
