brother
is lamp
I watch him

percuss the cupboards
closed then
accept

midnight
and suffixes
retreat to bed

it is always
morning somewhere
spiraling

out
of control
but now rest

I dream vast
dreams of
pale

parcels
of land
where no one

and my eyes
hold still
closed

waiting
for light
though not that
